Class Objectives & Learning Outcomes:

Take your highflying skills to the next level & learn to perform some of the most exciting and impressive moves around. Using trampolines, airtracks, crash mats and the ring - we’ll take you safely out of your comfort zone and into the air. From moonsaults and corkscrews to sasuke specials and the 450 splash - learn to flip & fly in a fun, safe environment. Beginning with a set of floor and ring drills each session will focus on a new move, dive or sequence. Learn how to execute complex maneuvers, tag-team moves and rope work and how to use spectacular moments to tell compelling stories that make sense.

  • Learn how to create height and rotation using leg power and arm swing so you can rotate, somersault & perform a variety of dives

  • Develop the body shaping needed to fly elegantly and safely

  • Experiment with trying flips from a variety of heights using inflatable equipment and crash mats

  • Try flips and moves for the first time from the ring to our landing bed to develop confidence safely and with minimised risk

  • Build the physical acuity, confidence & agility to become a high flyer / improve your high flying abilities

  • Learn how to base & fly by building the strength & power required to keep others safe in the ring when performing complex moves & manoeuvres.

  • Practice lucha drills & partner work to get comfortable working with a range of other wrestlers

Who is it for?

This is an advanced class for Grade 2 & Grade 3 level wrestlers. Grade 1 students who have been regularly attending Gymnastics for Wrestlers are also welcome by invitation. Sessions will sometimes be led by guest teachers depending on the specialist moves being taught that week.
